Refund Policy

Effective date: 3 September 2026

This Refund Policy explains the circumstances under which CheckiCover (Pty) Ltd (“CheckiCover”, “we”, “us” or “our”) may issue refunds for subscriptions and payments made through our platform. By using CheckiCover, you agree to the terms set out below.

1. Free Trial

CheckiCover offers a free trial period to new users. A valid payment method is required to activate the trial. No charge is made during the trial period.

If you cancel before the trial expires, no subscription fee is charged and no refund is applicable as no payment was taken.

2. Automatic Billing After Trial

If you do not cancel before the free trial expires, your subscription automatically converts to a paid subscription and your stored payment method is charged. This charge is final and non-refundable, except where required by applicable law.

It is your responsibility to cancel before the trial period ends if you do not wish to continue with a paid subscription.

3. Monthly Subscription Refunds

CheckiCover operates on a monthly subscription billing cycle. Monthly subscription payments are non-refundable once processed.

If you cancel your subscription:

  • Access to your subscription benefits remains active until the end of the current paid billing period.
  • No partial refunds are issued for unused portions of a billing period, except where required by law.
  • Your subscription will not renew at the end of the current billing period.

4. Consumer Protection Act (CPA) Rights

If you are a consumer as defined under the South African Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA), you may have additional rights that supersede parts of this Refund Policy. Nothing in this policy is intended to limit, exclude or modify any statutory rights you may have under the CPA.

Where the CPA entitles you to a refund or cancellation, such rights will apply regardless of the terms set out in this policy.

5. Billing Errors and Duplicate Charges

If you believe you have been charged in error, including duplicate charges or incorrect amounts, please contact us immediately. We will investigate and, where a billing error is confirmed, issue a full refund for the erroneous charge.

Billing error refund requests should be submitted within 30 days of the charge date.

6. Service Disruptions

CheckiCover strives to provide reliable service. In the event of a significant service disruption that materially affects your ability to use the platform, we may, at our discretion, offer account credits or partial refunds for the affected period.

Decisions regarding service disruption refunds are made on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed.

7. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please contact us with the following information:

  • Your full name and account email address
  • Date of the charge in question
  • Reason for the refund request
  • Any supporting documentation (e.g. screenshots of error messages)

Send refund requests to: admin@checkicover.co.za

8. Refund Processing

Where a refund is approved:

  • Refunds will be processed to the original payment method.
  • Processing may take 5–10 business days depending on your bank or payment provider.
  • You will receive an email confirmation once the refund has been processed.

9. Data After Cancellation or Refund

Requesting a refund does not automatically delete your data. If you wish to have your personal information deleted, please submit a separate request as outlined in our Privacy Policy.

Following cancellation or refund, your data may be retained for a limited period in accordance with our data retention practices and applicable legal obligations before being securely deleted.

10. Changes to This Refund Policy

CheckiCover may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The latest version will be made available on this page. Material changes will be communicated where reasonably appropriate.
